Very well said! I first had a Twitter account so that I could stay in touch with what my loved ones are doing. It may seem mundane to others but not to people who are close to you. It's also a good platform for sharing information and I've enjoyed clicking on the links shared by the people I follow. =)

Once again, love your piece! =D

Self-proclaimed Social Media Expert Alan Wolk learned the hard way when he lectured the industry recently on Adweek. His post titled, "What 'ThugLife' Can Teach Us About Twitter" got so many negative comments Wolk posted a revamped reply, but it was so condescending it got even more outraged readers.

My option. Don't believe their hype!

The "Social Media Mavens" annoy me. I use Twitter the way I want. I have people who follow me, and those who won't, and that's just fine with me.

Well-said, Amanda! Sometimes Twitter can take on a 'Westside Story' sort of feel, with all the different factions battling over the silliest things. Forget the rules....give people something interesting and the so-called rules really don't matter.
